City of Medford, Oregon U.S. Cellular Park

"Thanks to our fantastic facility, we beat out Seattle in securing the 2011 Men’s Western National Tournament for slow pitch softball. This highly coveted tournament is expected to attract up to 70 teams and generate several hundred-thousand dollars in economic impact for Medford businesses."
Director City of Medford Parks and Recreation
When the City of Medford, Oregon acquired a spectacular parcel of land along Interstate 5, they called upon SportsPLAN Studio and Walker Macy Landscape Architects in 2003 to conduct a series of community and stakeholder meetings and prepare a master plan for the U.S. Cellular Community Park.
The City subsequently engaged Hardey Engineering and SportsPLAN Studio to implement the master plan in four phases of construction. The first phase included earthwork, roads, utilities and bridge over Bear Creek. Phase Two, completed in the Spring of 2008 added five lighted synthetic turf softball fields and support facilities. Phase Three added a baseball field, four lighted synthetic turf soccer fields and the 1,300-seat Championship Stadium field in February 2009. Phase Four, completed in 2014 added two softball fields and one baseball field. All Fields have synthetic turf and lights.
