University of Northern Colorado Athletic Facilities Master Plan

President University of Northern Colorado (addressing the Trustees)
In 2006, the University of Northern Colorado selected SportsPLAN Studio and the Davis Partnership to guide the development of its athletic facilities as the University completes its move to NCAA Division I and to the Big Sky Athletic Conference.
We initiated the planning process with a series of working sessions with the Athletic Department staff and university administrators to examine the University’s program requirements, and its gender equity and recruiting positions. We completed a detailed comparison of athletic facilities at eight other Big Sky institutions and seven other athletic peer institutions.
The West Campus athletics district and the Jackson Sports Complex were studied to maximize use of existing facilities, while determining reasonable additions to the facility inventory.
