Miami University McKie Field

Head Baseball Coach, Miami University
In February 2002, the Redhawks of Miami University took the field to open a baseball season unlike any other. We had designed a new stadium on the traditional site of McKie Field, rotated so that the ticket gates and entry plaza are integrated with the campus. Students and faculty now walk through the plaza on the way home after class, hearing the sounds of the game. We reshaped the site so the stadium nestles into a gentle slope. The spectator view over the outfield fence is a vista of the wooded hills northwest of the campus.
We used the same neo-Georgian style and careful attention to architectural detailing that made our first two campus projects so successful.
