City of Calgary, Alberta Foothills Athletic Park Track

Following the completion of the City of Calgary’s athletic and recreation master plan, SportsPLAN Studio teamed with S2 Architecture again to design the Foothills Athletic Park track. The existing track was reconstructed, including removing and replacing the asphalt base, reconditioning the concrete curbs inside and out, installing a new track surface, new throwing area and relocated vaulting and jumping runways. The project consists of two phases: first the track and field reconstruction, and in a second phase, new grandstands for 2,000, new meet management facilities and spectator amenities to be placed for events.
